UNCG AI Innovation Challenge

Calling all UNCG faculty, researchers, and innovators using or exploring Artificial Intelligence!
UNCG is launching a campus-wide Artificial Intelligence Innovation Challenge, and you’re invited to be part of it!
🔍 What It’s About
This exciting event will highlight and support AI-related work across three focus areas:
- Research projects that use AI as a tool
- Efforts to develop AI tools or applications
- Projects aimed at solving real-world or industry problems using AI
We’re seeking participation from faculty, research scholars, and interdisciplinary teams across all units. Ideal teams will include at least one faculty member and up to three additional members, student or faculty.
⚙️ What to Expect
Participants will submit a short application describing their project or research including the following information:
One page Executive Summary containing:
- Project Overview
- Team Participants
- Target Market
- Market Opportunity
Four page Slide Deck containing:
- Name and Description of Venture/Opportunity
- Team – Image and title
- Target Market
- Overall potential of the opportunity
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of faculty and industry professionals. A select number of teams will advance to a final round to present their ideas or projects live.
🏆 Awards & Recognition
Top teams will receive prizes and follow-on support to help advance their work. Details on award structure and funding sources will be shared soon.

We’re working to involve local and national partners in AI and innovation to serve as judges, speakers, and supporters. Stay tuned for updates!
